well he absolutely knows how to read, that's just silly. we've been talking about and consuming trump political stuff for like 15 years now. it's old and he's old and rambles and we've heard it all before. not sure how he gets any kind of momentum back

tbf, pete might be describing trump's poor ability to "read", as if to perform live. The panel is talking about "table readings" and "live readings" -- doesn't feel to generous to think Pete not criticizing Trump's literacy in general, just how shitty an actor he is, how fragile a narcissist he is, and how deluded he is overall. On the whole, he can't be funny or fun and that's bad "reading" in this context. two cents* *trump is a boring shit stain and terrible man.

Like anything practice makes perfect - I feel like he honestly probably hasn’t had to actually read anything in depth in about 75 years - there was always a handler or lawyer to summarize the hard points - the rest he could intuitively BS through. I think people forget that growing up rich is entirely living life in a bubble where there’s always someone to clean up the mess and help you out of a pickle.
