Status update: As of now, degen.tips API is still struggling. Your allowance is not changing during the day. Your allowance and spending is displayed correctly in this frame - it uses dune. Do not overtip because there is no overtipping allowed like in previous seasons. https://altumbase.com/degen/366713/hdudbehx

Correct me if I'm wrong, but overtipping is not going to get you in trouble, per se. The tips will not be valid in the end. Of course, you shouldn't overtip at all because that's the correct behavior.

Regular, significant overspending has gotten people disqualified in the past.

Yeah but is the final calculator sheet calling the overspending sheet? I didn't see that, if so.

You're right that it's not directly linked. I saw that the disqualified users query has some FIDs listed explicitly with an "overspending" annotation, so I'm guessing the output of the overspending query is manually reviewed before being used. To make things complicated, the DQ users list isn't currently being used...

I haven't seen @jacek comment on it but I would LOVE it if this new system started from scratch, reset the disquals, and passively disenfranchised banned users from this moment forward (because it works and we don't have to police shit like that).

Yup would clear out a lot of the noise about fairness. You know, I was thinking if this new design neuters the giveaway flywheels successfully (not enough < 1k ranking people participate in them to sustain them), I wonder if receiving tips can be seen as a valid social reputation scoring input...

as the system /focuses/ and is more and more successful at its goal, that success will produce new... data points... that we can harvest for other purposes. and yep, if we "get the money to the right people" then "received money" is enough to presume "right person" useful.

I really hope this turns out the way it's intended because, at least on paper, the future looks so bright and exciting with this new approach!

work, time, and routine iteration will get us proper-fit for the tipping game. @openrank provides jacek and co the levers they need to adjust as data comes in; if farmers prove successful, they can get de-weighted before any snapshot. indeed, we might be totally past manual disqualifications now. bless.

Another key strategy was to limit the pool to only 1000 people, making it much easier to track any necessary cases. "All the puzzle pieces are starting to make sense now :P
