re, the coming channel changes and day one members: >for channels /with moderation enabled/ any user who was liked by a mod or mod-bot will be auto-migrated to the "new" channel. >dan is asking for feedback but this sounds workable to me. what popular channels are /not/ moderated, if any?

I believe it’s a wait and see thing. Is it going to be chaos or a hassle? Maybe maybe not. In general the channel changes are a huge step forward. But change is always hard, people generally don’t like it.

it's a small technical change and i expect less entropy, not more.

it both is and it's not. The gating and membership are the biggest change I think. I'm in over 50 channels atm, in the beginning I would need to be allowed back in each of them to be able to post.

this post from dan suggests otherwise. you'll be auto-enrolled into all of those channels along with every other contentful participant. indeed, you probably won't immediately notice the change except Recent will have vanished and the feed flips to chrono.

Yes indeed, he does tackle the concerns in this recent post. For channel owners it would work a bit backwards now as they have to manually kick out each bot again. The + side, no new bots would automatically be able to join in.
