re, the coming channel changes and day one members: >for channels /with moderation enabled/ any user who was liked by a mod or mod-bot will be auto-migrated to the "new" channel. >dan is asking for feedback but this sounds workable to me. what popular channels are /not/ moderated, if any?

not really. channels are permissioned. with the right people permitted to join, moderation isn't necessary. this change obsoletes in-channel content moderation; choose the right people instead.

But if any user who was liked by a mod (or mod-bot) will be auto-member to the "new" channel, it may happen that wrong people get the membership. in that case, moderators will have to curate! I see it as a good solution to not start from 0…

no curation (ie, no manually managing that user's shitty content) just remove the user from the channel. that's it. no curation needed. but i think we're saying the same thing with different words.

definitely. by the term curation I was referring to manually removing unwanted users (who were previously accepted because they were previously liked by the bot).

yeah, thought so. so then "curation" is a simple toggle. instead of removing the user's occasional shitty content each day, creating a lot of busy work... just remove the user. Ten steps reduced to one.
