has any publisher not released undercooked, overburdened software with this or worse recently? I think... everything has a launcher, login, patch, etc now, and has for awhile.

Very much so. Can’t install max Payne without the damn rockstar launcher, can’t run Diablo without the Battle launcher, can’t even buy a game anymore outside of steam or gog
