i think it’s worth defining “best” most “accelerators” are just a way for VCs to get better economics (ie. buy more of your equity at a lower price)

short answer: no, i don’t think founders should take accelerator terms unless 1) they have no other choice or 2) they have a clear reason why the accelerator will meaningfully change the trajectory of their business longer answer starts with “it depends what you’re optimizing for” and “define good”

what about something like /just-frame-it? (technically markets itself as a build sprint but in practice I think it's v similar? no equity here though, which I think is fine / not disqualifying from my initial question)

that looks like a great accountability group to ship something :) very different from an accelerator though an accelerator is typically a product sku a venture firm adds to 1. invest earlier than usual 2. get better pricing 3. (if you’re lucky) support you while still pre-product / pre-revenue i’m all for accountability groups and communities for likeminded people (i helped build them at On Deck, joinodf.com) what i don’t like is “big fund launches accelerator to get better deal terms while providing the same support they would give to any other portco”
