What age did you start letting your kids play video games? What's the best progression from 0 to building cool stuff in Minecraft?

not sure what i'm going to do for my kids, but i recall playing consoles at friends houses starting around 4-5 and getting my first (n64) at 6 spent a lot of time gaming as a child and believe i turned out all the better for it. that said, not all games are created equal imo /shrug
