Channels are a Farcaster primitive. Working to decentralize them progressively.

That's good to know. I had the impression that it was a Warpcast feature. Thanks for clarifying!

Channels are just a brand name for FIP-2. 

Channel leads are Warpcast only for now.

Yes I'm aware of the FIP-2 part. My impression was that channels is a curated set of FIP-2 discussions: Warpcast implements their channels, other apps implement their own, there's nothing blocking any app using them, but the Warpcast list is controlled by Warpcast.
