I'm still working on getting revnet-pilled, but in general I agree that devs having utility/loyalty coins that can develop secondary markets over time is healthy! The problem is trying to skip straight to amm liquidity pools and generate trading volume before the dev has actually produced any meaningful progress on something the token can be used for. This just fragments the limited market that is willing to invest at this stage. If the only way to get a token is to buy it straight from the dev, and the only thing to do with it is use it on the dev's products, then there's a circular economy being developed. Once the dev's products start getting traction, now ppl can start speculating on the potential demand it could create and now there's a viable secondary market that can be non-extractive from the work the dev is actually doing. https://warpcast.com/kmacb.eth/0x7b934fa3

I used clanker.world for $lemon3 and imo, it's good enough for a devcoin. I'm not an expert, revnet sounds like it's being built with this use case in mind, so it may have knobs and levers that make it a much better fit. But in any case, people will need to buy "something": a dream, an attractive project plan, the dev's track record, or a product that's already out and they want to use. You can't expect people to spend money just because you want them to do so :-)

Absolutely agree. While I do think clanker is approaching maximum incentive alignment, the reality I see is that there's only a certain % of the population that wants to play trading games on early (pre-product) developer memecoins. It's a market that only has so much potential. Realistically, I think there's a much higher % of people who'd like to directly invest in supporting dev's at this stage in a less PVP/extractive sort of way. The clanker-style system can make sense at the right stage of an idea. I don't think it's universally the most efficient mechanism at funding developers early in the ideation process.
