If you are developing a farcaster client, how do you treat URLs included in a cast, during cast composition? Do you remove them from the cast text and add them as embeds? Do you keep them in the text and add them as embeds? Do you have different rules if the URL is in the middle of the text, vs appended at the end?

Uno removes the first two URLs from the cast text and pops them into embed slots Others are left within the text

I like keeping the urls in the text and adding embeds. That is unless the URL is at the end, on a line by itself. Then it can safely just be just an embed.

IIRC a cast has up to two embeds and so most clients will render the first two URLs as embeds(eg. In warpcast you just disable the embed for a link by clicking the x on its preview) But yeah placement in the text itself shouldn’t matter

I did nothing during composition/write. ie Keep the url in the text. During reads/render check for URLs in text & replace them with [external link] w a different color text to create a visual warning. Use case is live chat inspired by irc & YouTube live stream chat.

warpcast's video support seems to rely on cloudflare. what if, one day, that cloudflare account stops paying...?
