My toddler always wants to see what's happening on the kitchen counter when we're cooking Option 1: someone holds him Option 2: put him in a high chair Option 3: ? Maybe a step stool? Something else? Any suggestions?

My suggestion is high chair, until you feel comfortable he knows the rules and is familiar with what's happening, then a step stool.
