If my friend is having issues making an account on Warpcast, can I make an account on their behalf and share the private key? Is the downside that they can never change the private key so I’ll always have access to their account?

They could do a recovery, but sounds messy. What kind of issues are they having?

It’s this same friend (I’ve also pinged @v about this) The catch is that he’s /europoooooor and /android and his App Store country doesn’t match where he currently resides bc he’s a digital nomad (and apparently you cannot change the App Store country for an entire year once u switch it once on /android !? Crazy) He made a farquest account but as you know that is not the same ecosystem as here https://warpcast.com/christin/0x5f46f529

we might not be able to do much here, its likely a google level issue with payments. you can pay for their invite via the invite flow to get around this

The lack of web-based signup with crypto is due to AppStore rules, or is it a technical limitation? It seems like a friction point that comes up over and over. Or maybe not so much any more?

lots of little papercuts: 1. storing seed phrase securely is hard 2. paying for your signup is really clunky compared to double-tap pay on mobile 3. retention is much worse for users on web, almost no social app starts with web sign up for this reason.

@christin easiest would be to: - click on invite - choose gift an invite - use warps to send them an invite via email that skips the pay step, so their app store wont be an issue.

This could be the web version :-) Pay to invite yourself through a web app, receive email invitation.

retention is still an issue. social apps work because of push notifications and being placed on a home screen with a red badge (unfortunate but true)
