Aha! Thank you! I get it clearly now! It’s not a first come first serve situation, it’s a let’s all contribute, build and bring value without competition! Thank you!!

Web2 analytics are helpful, but onchain impact is king.

Projects don’t vote for Retro Funding, badgeholders do. Each badgeholders is one person, with one vote. This makes the practicality of bribery very difficult. However this is a very actively in progress design space. Capture resistance is critical. So stick around to see how we innovate next.

Far too much to answer in a cast - but luckily all the answers are in our docs! We have run 3 rounds already so you can look into those. TLDR badgeholders (one person one vote) look through nominations and allocate based on impact within the round scope. https://community.optimism.io/docs/governance/citizens-house/

It’s a difficult balance - and one we are still learning to manage. We take a very experimental approach. Try something, see if it works, iterate or innovate. For trust we do a lot - from taking time to get feedback, accepting to criticism and owning when we make mistakes.

Haha if the colleges would agree to it - which would be quite difficult to get right.

Building something off the list does not automatically create impact - the build still needs to be used to create impact. Projects outside the list, or really any build on the Superchain have their impact measured by Badgeholders in Retro Funding rounds: https://community.optimism.io/docs/governance/citizens-house/

Firstly all our governance is open and accessible - so the transparency is there. We have a network of systems for accountability, but that is too much for a cast. You should join a gov office hours to get a more in depth answer. Or join the Optimism Discord to ask now 😌✨

Effectiveness is still to be seen (real analytics takes time and a lot of data), but what we can say for sure is it is much easier to see impact retroactively than to try guess what will be useful proactively.

There is no deadline - the builder list does not have incentives. Build whenever -> have impact -> apply for a relevant Retro Funding round -> make the world a little more optimistic ✨

This is the whole point of the builder list - to give you inspiration of where to have impact! For a quick answer though: - developer onboarding. - dev tooling. - building an app that people actually need or use.

It’s open to anyone! Multiple people can build the same idea or collaborate together to build it. There are no rewards or incentives for the builder list - it’s inspiration. Once you have built something, and if that thing gets usage/has impact, then you can get rewarded in a relevant Retro Funding round.

Our infra stack (the OP Stack) was designed to be highly modular. When ZK proofs are ready they can be swapped in as the proof. And other devs building on the stack could use ZK proofs now! That’s the power of a modular stack. Modularity is the killer feature 🦾

What are you building? What do you need? There are tons of resources for builders. If you are not on our discord yet I’d head there for tech support and if you want to meet more builders who could maybe help!

Yes! There are plenty of opportunities for builders to get grants in the Superchain ecosystem - check out this doc for more info https://community.optimism.io/docs/governance/get-a-grant/#

Yes of course! As long as your project is in scope of a round, you can apply! The builder list is for inspiration and a little guidance.
