Just finished this. Reminds me of how J.R.R. Tolkien was a huge fan and drew so much of LOTR from Beowulf. I felt like I was reading The Hobbit for parts of it.

for sure, I also love how much Tolkien drew from Beowulf in creating Rohan; the Golden Hall of Edoras even takes its name, Meduseld, from the earlier work. 

I'm a fan of Seamus Heaney's translation, will have to check out the Headley.
