In that same code release, i.e. Geth V1.0.0, we have when reward per block changed from 1 ETH to 5 ETH, just 5 days before Ethereum went live

As for the merge, there is this commit that marked when exactly Ethereum was going to switch to PoS (based on the total cumulative difficulty).

This was named "Mainnet Terminal Total Difficulty" 😄
