Tether is actively talking with two US congressmen, Bryan Steil and French Hill, the authors of the STABLE bill (introduced on February 6), to build a stablecoin legal framework. Tether is required to maintain a 1:1 reserve ratio for USDT and monthly audits by a US auditing firm. Fed Governor Christopher Waller said stablecoins help expand the influence of the USD, although he is still concerned about the risk of losing the anchor.
