What's your opinion in the plethora of L2s sucking TVL out of Ethereum lately. There is so many me and many people lost count and the funds and effectively traffic is moving off the mainnet. That's the opposite of what we need. Rollups aren't a friend, they are becoming a foe. Do we truly want L2s to take traffic off Ethereum?

If we go down the STARKed binary hash trees, why do we need a gas limit? If the burden is mostly on the builder+prover, let each builder build (or outsource) what they can (up to some limit on state growth/data-to-download). Any downside other than the obvious advantage to the big guy? Anything I missed?
