Literally pattern matching "ASIC" -> "so they're doing proof of work!" without even understanding that application-specific integrated circuits can be designed for multiple, err... applications.

I think the bitcoin devs should probably keep PoW and the 21m limit for now, but maintain a fork that switches to some kind of hybrid PoS that keeps enough PoW so that PoW fans still feel like it's Backed By Thermodynamics™ but where PoS provides most of the security, so they can switch to it once there's a problem

It’s funny how hardware gives the impression of large operations. 

When I read this though I see few things I didn’t know, can bitcoin devs can affect the PoW and transition it to PoS?

Also can the 21M bitcoin max supply be changed at some point in the future?
