I wonder what would have happened if stablediffusion released itself as a really powerful web-based image editing tool, still offering but relatively de-emphasizing its "create things with a prompt from scratch" functionality. Realistically, practical use cases are going to be AI+human mix for quite a while anyway.

We are building an advanced editing tools built on stable diffusion at artifactai.co, targeting creative professionals. Interestingly, we are seeing much more demand for generating image from scratch than edits. Emerged use cases: 1) quickly go from idea to visual presentation for brainstorming solo or w/ team, and…

Emad's plan was to start separate DAOs for the models they'll be releasing. that's why we invested in the parent company, Stability AI when it first raised Building a powerful tool takes years, and their strength is also in innovation, not consumer-end

Seems like it could still happen and potentially be a more practical/realistic way of building a business on top of it

I think that's how we can make the most of ai moving forward. The sort of networked interaction between collective human intelligence on the internet distilled by the ai and the human entering the prompts.

I have been implementing a similar approach on my coding by leveraging AI to help me visualize the infrastructure I want to build more clear and we make a great team! It seems that there are two types of arguments, one for ‘I’m scared’ one for ‘let me get better with this’ I’ll take the second until proven

This feels like where the business will actually go, but I think they didn't want to miss the "wow" factor in a public release. In the sense that it seems to have captured the imagination of investors, builders and the public - it may turn out to be the right strategy for them, after all.
