very interesting perspective. I hadn't thought much about the information value of prediction markets until the Bsnkless podcast started discussing them recently. Your article deepens the perspective. I could see them as valuable also in public health, such as whether a Paleo or vegan diet is generally healthier for humans. I know where I'd put my money, but I'd also like to see where the crowd's money falls on this kind of question rather than just "health" agencies.

Incidentally, Robin has also written about this topic! https://mason.gmu.edu/~rhanson/buyhealth.html Could be interesting to try to figure out a more decentralized version of these ideas.

btw, I started the Ancestral Health Society in 2011 as an educational non-profit that hosted a (mostly) annual Ancestral Health Symposium providing health education from an evolutionary mismatch perspective. We closed the society this year, but videos of all the talks are publicly available. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ancestry+foundation

Robin lays out a very interesting approach to aligning incentives for a healthy life. But I think education is really the key here, and prediction markets might be a more cost effective and achievable approach to the incentive problem at the society level that can provide benefits at the individual level.
