Just finished reading! Agree mostly BUT there is an implicit bias towards technological determinism here which could underestimate the need for strong social and cultural foundations to go alongside technological solutions. 

Could you expand on that @vitalik.eth ?

What do you mean by technological determinism, and what kind of social and cultural foundations do you want to see?

tech determinism suggests that technology is the main driver shaping our world, but i think it’s more nuanced because as long as humans are involved, how we view and interact with tech is just as important. For example, something as simple as “directions” (left, right) varies across cultures, which changes how they interact with ‘navigation tech.’ 

As we move further into digital subcultures, these differences will only grow. You mentioned this with the Taiwan example — context is key (and the world is only increasing in the need for context as things get weirder lol)
