Farcaster should have (near-)unlimited length messages like twitter. Having used it for a while, I feel like twitter's long message feature improves its user experience and its usefulness for high quality discussion.

This is the first request I made to @dwr.eth after joining Farcaster. It's amazing people believe 280 characters enables high-signal conversations where there's a lot of nuance and subtle ideas. I guess it boils down to personal standards for writing--my standards can be painfully high in many cases.

280 chars definitely forces a different style. It is possible to successfully make threads with it, but quite hard. It's better for exposition than argument. eg. you can get more content into a tweet by putting an image into it, and that's more amenable to making an independent argument than to responding to people.

Welp. I usually find myself arguing on Twitter half of the time (latest one was with the Wikipedia army for their biased coverage of crypto). And 280 characters never cut it when trying to respond to people. It illustrates Brandonlini's Law (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandolini%27s_law) perfectly imo.
