I feel like this is a big misconception though? If your node is offline 1% of the time, your returns only drop 2% (eg. 3.43% instead of 3.50%). Letting your staking node sit there while you have power / connectivity losses is actually totally fine.

Fair point – I'm currently solo staking on Gnosis Chain and although I'm currently in the red, it's reassuring to know I can easily make up for the downtime.
