Question: do we really need message history for all digital communications? It seems like the default for most chat/comms apps (with the exception of FC DCs). IRL interactions often have no history or record except what we remember

I am thankful for all of my old messages with my mom because she’s dead and I can’t have any more conversations with her. I like being able to see conversations we had.

I can relate to this—I have messages from my brother who passed away in 2014. There is definitely comfort in having access to those records.
