I'm not sure how close you followed what happened in Yugoslavia in the 90s. I'm not taking sides, this was one of the darkest periods in the recent Balkan history, but the facts do not support your statement.

Look, the Balkans are one of the most complex regions of the world, with peoples that have lived, loved, killed and fought each other for centuries. The atrocities that happened in Yugoslavia in the 90s are beyond imagination. However, you can't focus on Bosnia-Herzegovina and ignore what happened around them, and then draw conclusions on the stance of the West. NATO bombed Serbia, killing Christians. Germany was blamed for triggering the wars by unilaterally recognizing the independence of Croatia early. Btw, Bosnia-Herzegovina is 51% Muslims and 46% Christians. How does this make religion the deciding factor of everything that happened there? And did the West *want* Milosevic, and this is why we stayed watching until it was too late? I strongly doubt this.
