For me, this book is about the ability to survive in a world where old ways are collapsing, and it has two main heroines - Scarlett and Melanie. They are complete opposites, but both are incredibly strong and capable of surviving, each in their own way.

i’ve been thinking about reading it since my teenage years, but somehow i still haven’t — and honestly, i just don’t feel like it. but i know that there are so many her fans!!
