Bandar Lampung is a city in the Indonesian province of Lampung, on the island of Sumatra, the administrative center of the province. During the Dutch colonial rule it was called Oosthaven (nid. Oosthaven). Later it was called Tanjunkarang-Telukbetung, after the names of the two parts that formed the city, Tanjunkarang and Telukbetung. Renamed in 1983.
