my travel in the last 5 years has gotten so predictable I think i've lost some muscle memory around orientation behaviors in new places... after some years of increasing convenience thanks to uber etc. being good, it's gotten much worse now and ubers etc are increasingly messy adversarial games with drivers

I suspect it's partly age, but also partly serious degradation in the travel-friendliness of the world, both within and between countries... phones make a lot of things easier, but also force you to deal with weird new app ecosystems etc. instead of just going to airport information booth for brochures

Past two Ubers I’ve ordered they obviously were still completing a Lyft ride when they accepted it, so they went from 1 mi away to 9 mi away. I cancelled and rebooked, same exact guy same issue.
