Should likes on Warpcast also be micro-transactions/tips?

I realize we have warps - but they seem duplicative. If every like sent $0.10 in USDC on Base to the poster (and you could tap it as many times as you want) I think we'd see a lot more value going to creators.

Hell no. This would be like replacing handshakes and hellos with tips. Keep likes separate from tips of any sort. Likes are illegible signals of acknowledgment and organic relationships. Tips are strongly status-coded legible transactions that will lead to Seeing Like a [Crypto] State if allowed to eat likes.

I realize coinbase extended universe is leading an existential struggle to grow the crypto economy gdp but I think paradoxically the trick to doing that may be fighting harder to preserve *non-transactional* spaces. Kinda like measuring the strength of a civilization by the health of its wildernesses.

I think you can look to Reddit r/cryptocurrency to see what can happen when likes (upvotes) were linked to monthly airdropped tokens.

This is a bit different than direct relation to 1 like = certain money.

+1 the simplest solution might be to enhance the existing warps system to make it more visible rather than complicating the engagement system with monetary likes
