So I’m building this kit of a tuxedo cat because my wife got it into her head that she wanted it. She doesn’t want to build it, just have it. Not a type of kit I’d ever have bought myself since it’s almost entirely about aesthetics and smooth surfaces with uninteresting mechanics. But there are some interesting insights here on how to construct curves and non orthogonal angles out of Lego parts. But it’s mostly a tedious kit. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/tuxedo-cat-21349

It’s a bitch… 20 bags of subassemblies. I’m at 8 bags. Main body and back legs done. Front legs, head and tail left. Main lesson so far is that this is an unnatural thing to build with legos.

Done. Took about 10-12 hours. Creepy little bugger. But turned out more fun than I expected in the end. Learned several interesting construction techniques to generate curved geometries and articulated joints.
