Individual contributor —> manager —> networker —> investor is the most successful downcycling process ever invented. 

We even manage to convince younglings it’s an upcycling process to higher-status roles when it’s actually managed cognitive decline.

Unless I do something to reverse the decline next two stages are are retirement and death

Shit. I’m already at age where some of my more driven college classmates are getting “distinguished alumnus” awards on LinkedIn

This is an extra downcycling stage for some people who don’t decline as fast. Definitely not one I’ll be getting.
