Belief in Bitcoin is disbelief in existing civilization. Belief in Ethereum is belief in many alternatives. Belief in the US dollar is belief in high-end military power. Belief in anything else is belief in control of material resources (neo-mercantilism) I kinda believe in all these things

Belief in Ethereum is just the current civilisation's tendencies multiplied. Introducing markets into every facet of social life is a continuation of the normal trajectory of capitalism. Manchester textile mills -> consumerism -> internet -> decentralised value. Nothing particularly breaking with "all that is solid melts into air".
