Live the same

A quick note about the photos in my posts - I'd like to clarify that unfortunately not all of them are directly related to the stories they are attached to. But I try to find ones that are at least from the same places or have some relevance. 🙂

All of these photos from the Dominican Republic were taken by me between 2013 and mid-2018 - some with my phone, some with my camera. Unfortunately, I lost most of my photos along with the hard drives during my many moves. 😞

Some of the photos I have left I can't share because of contracts I had with a company. Luckily, there weren't many of these shoots, and usually it was at the request of the client... For example, once we shot for the birthday of the wife of the Minister of Defense of the Dominican Republic! The company sent four photographers there, and we handed over all the photos, never to see them again. Yes, that happens! 😅

Tourists often get into all sorts of situations - you probably already figured it out. I don't think a day went by without someone from our work sharing a story about what some tourists did. Most often, it's just the usual drunken antics - pretty boring, to be honest. But sometimes there are funny or even dangerous stories.

Once, when I was working on excursions, we had a tourist who didn't listen to the instructions and swam too far from the shore on Macau Beach. Hotels are usually built in safe places - no reefs, no deep water, nothing risky. But Macau is a "wild beach" and there is a rip current. If you swim about 50 meters (it varies in different places), the current will start to carry you out to the ocean, and it will take a lot of effort to get back.

Well, our tourist got into it. Luckily, everything worked out - the guide quickly made arrangements with local fishermen, who went out and pulled him back. But there were many similar stories on this beach, and not all of them ended well.

I'm afraid of drunk tourists, I avoid them )
