I choose different ones every week. Sometimes I’ll wait a day or two to see where votes are settling. I also only choose assets I want (USDC, ETH, OP) unless the APY is crazy high.

I really think you should read the docs. I’m getting the feeling you don’t really understand the model on which Velodrome, Aerodrome, Retro etc is based. To answer your question what you earn from voting is clearly listed on the voting page and it’s in either the tokens from the LP or the incentives. But…

Estimated rewards displayed in USD value. This is how most defi apps show you the value of rewards. If you hover over the rewards it shows exactly what they are. For example wETH/stETH pool is gonna be LP fees 0.3% on all transactions split between wETH and stETH plus incentives, probably OP tokens.
