The closed Olympic rings as a whole symbolize the unity of the five continents, the union of all parts of the world and the global character of the Olympic Games. And the colors are symbols of different elements: blue - water, red - fire, yellow - the energy of the earth, black - the energy of metal, green - the energy of wood.
