🇺🇸🇨🇦Trump backtracks on his plan to impose 250% tariffs on some Canadian goods
A day after issuing a one-month moratorium, Mr. Trump posted an article accusing Canada of defrauding American farmers through the USMCA. Specifically, in 2024, Canada will impose sky-high tariffs on many American goods, especially the dairy industry:

- Milk: Up to 243%
- Butter: Up to 298%
- Cheese: Up to 245%

Trump criticized Canada for protecting domestic goods but still "benefiting" from trade with the US and announced that the US will impose retaliatory tariffs - possibly today (March 8) or March 10-11.

 🇨🇳🇨🇦China has announced 100% tariffs on some Canadian agricultural and food products in retaliation for Canada's import duties on Chinese electric vehicles, steel and aluminum. 

China's Ministry of Commerce said that from March 20, Canadian canola oil, oilseed meal and peas will be subject to 100% tariffs, while seafood and pork products will be subject to an additional 25% tariff.
