I don't run analytics on either my blog or The Index. I don't see the point in tracking hits and page views. I don't decide what to write about based on what gets clicks. I don't have sponsors, and I don't sell ads. The only metrics that matter are newsletter subscribers and paid supporters.

I love your writing. Not running analytics feels like missed signal even if you’re not using them to determine what to write about.

I genuinely just don't care. If people like my writing, I'll find out about it. If not, I'll find out about it. I don't need the weather to tell me if it's raining.
