For this pickup we focused on beer cans and plastic bottles that end up on the floor and in the sewers. We might bring up the issue of damaged trash cans to the local gov. The deposits for cigarettes have significantly reduced the amount of cigarette waste, but sometimes we still find boxes thrown around.

This time of year it's common for people to throw bottles and other plastics around without thinking about the environmental impact 😓 In collaboration with the local community were able to collect a whole bunch of wasteful materials and put them all in the recycling whale 🐳 🍃 Here's to a greener 2025 🍃

Maybe you could "unlock" one more grant after every few months of delivering on your current ones, and curators can decide to challenge it or not based on the application and the builder's current project load. It would still incentivize prolific builders without allowing people to flood the system.

Big update soon! By Friday we'll have a site with at least 2-3 products to start testing functionality and interest. I wanted to have a whole bunch of designs ready but that was just delaying the other deliverables... I'll focus on having a working system and then iterating designs based on community feedback

A week after publicly picking up cigarette butts at the park, the local gov installed 19 of these. The community has picked up 2250 butts this week alone! Part of my flow goals was to create awareness and promote changes like this even if I don't work with the gov directly. What change can we inspire next? ⌐◨-◨

The park is in Santo Domingo (Costa Rica) and yes every day I’m there kids and teens keep opening the shelfs to see what’s inside but usually there’s nothing appealing for their age.

A few new books for the public park📚 These are from a campaign called “Let’s Better Costa Rica” and they’re like a self-guided course with daily activities on responsibility and self-esteem for young people. Can you think of incentives for people to actually pick them up if they see them at the park? 🤔
