In Jain philosophy, there is a saying about meals:
breakfast should be eaten like a king, meaning a heavy meal (even if you overeat, it will get digested).
Lunch should be eaten like a common person, meaning you should eat a simple meal and then engage in physical activity to ensure it is digested quickly.
Dinner, however, should be eaten like a beggar, meaning that even if a beggar is starving for days, he does not get a full meal. Similarly, you should eat only a quarter of what your hunger demands.
