If you're curious about how the feed works now, it's basically: 1. Take casts from your following and order them reverse chron 2. Move casts higher if they're from someone you interact with a lot 3. Move casts higher if they have a lot of engagement 4. Move casts lower if you've seen them before

Is there a switch to just make it chronological? I often try to go back to see something I looked at earlier, but I get stuck in a thing where I can only see posts that are like 12+ hours old, even though I know I just saw some recent stuff moments before.

@v I guess this is a good example. I follow you, and I know I was on Warpcast around the time you posted this yesterday, but for some reason I just saw it now for the first time, 19 hours later. My feeds often just show me really old posts and I don't understand why. I just want to see the latest things that got posted

we did a fair bit of investigation into the problem and: 1. for most people, a chronological feed causes them to miss more casts from people they care about, not less. 2. for most reports of "i didnt see this", when we dug in the root cause was not the feed ordering but was something else.

so no plans to introduce a purely chronological feed at this time .

One thing I like about BlueSky is pluggable feed algorithms, so you can select from a handful of defaults, or use any of hundreds built by the community. No idea how feasible that concept would be in the context of Farcaster, but maybe someday 🌈🦄✨ https://github.com/bluesky-social/feed-generator
