I’ve seen so many spammers moving up quickly while older accounts are barely making it to the top 500, and here’s my theory. You guys have something in the leaderboard algorithm that gives newer FIDs a huge boost for frequent casting, even if they don’t receive any engagement at all. That’s exactly why we’ve seen those success stories where people say they invited someone to join Farcaster a week ago, and suddenly, they’re in the top 10. In theory, it’s good because it helps diversify the top of the leaderboard so it’s not just the same 10 influencers every week. But now, people know this and are creating alts and spam accounts to farm $.

Either scores are much lower or there are a ton of accounts gaming this program. My account suddenly dropped much lower in the ranking even though I have more engagement than prior weeks

It's very unfortunate. Most of the images, uploaded without any added value, are taken from the internet. On the /stolen channel, many cases like these are reported and we warn as many people as possible not to support this type of junk content. cc @jacque @pichi
