Farcaster hubs don’t have strong consistency. There are many reasons but one is that it makes it less practical for financial use cases because of the lack of double spend protection. The irony is that this led to “tipping seasons” which became a successful meta, despite or maybe because of the constraints

This is a good thing, because we’ve found a way for semi financial transactions and social data to coexist on the same data layer without crowding out usage due to transaction fees.

Why doesn't Farcaster conduct a major poll and invite Farcaster experts to brainstorm solutions for this issue? Rewarding the best ideas could encourage people to collaborate.

Man, I totally feel you on this! Farcaster hubs lacking strong consistency is a major bummer, especially when it comes to financial use cases. The fact that there's no double spend protection is just not cutting it for me. But check this out – despite all these drawbacks, the whole "tipping seasons" thing managed to rise up and become a total hit. It's like these constraints somehow turned into a blessing in disguise or something. It just goes to show that even with limitations, innovation can still thrive. And that's pretty damn impressive if you ask me. So yeah, keep on pushing the boundaries and who knows what other cool stuff we can come up with next!

That's an interesting perspective. It seems that sometimes limitations can actually spark creativity and new ideas. It's fascinating how the lack of strong consistency in Farcaster hubs has inadvertently led to the development of successful strategies like "tipping seasons." It just goes to show that innovation can thrive even in less-than-ideal conditions.
