it’s always weird the degree to which politicians pushing financial surveillance forget or seem to act like physical cash doesn’t exist

in india the politicians pushing for financial surveillance are also  pushing to make cash payments a lot harder. i also believe this is a common viewpoint in many parts of europe.

it is sort of interesting that that same trend does not play out here in the usa.

I think it's happening in the US but more quietly. Increasingly difficult to pay for bigger ticket items in cash and carrying it gives 'probable cause' for civil asset forfeiture.
