We should be imposing age-limits on Congress/Senate While also significantly increasing the salary of elected officials Make it an appealing career path w/ high upside so more talented folks want to take that path rather than just power-addicts https://i.imgur.com/wBS0huu.png

i've always wondered - why are US government officials so much older on average than their counterparts in Europe? AFAIK, there aren't any explicit max age limits there but the younger people seem to get the votes

Best thing I could find quickly that discusses this topic... https://politics.stackexchange.com/questions/49598/why-does-us-tend-to-have-rather-old-leaders-60-while-more-and-more-european

My guess: there aren't as many high-earning jobs in Europe, so the variance of taking a relatively low paid government position is more palatable. In U.S., the opportunity cost of going into politics is $M over the lifespan of your career due to the earning potential of tech.
