Are there incentives associated with running a farcaster hub?

Most app developers will run a hub, in the same way that every crypto exchange runs a node, so I’m not too worried about a shortage of hubs. No financial incentives since we haven’t found one that can’t be easily gamed

Yeah, that's why I was curious. There doesn't seem to be any obvious/clear solutions yet.. Any thinking around censorship resistance of hubs? Some incentive or disincentive to hubs choosing to censor specific messages?

Current thinking is to enforce at peering layer — hubs that repeatedly fail to acquire to display certain messages will be dropped by peers

What about hubs storing Casts or other Delta Types permanently on Arweave as they receive them. That way anyone could perform the validator role by building the Delta Graph for a particular user from Arweave and then challenging a Hub to produce the current state?

Cool, glad to know you're thinking down these vectors. Exciting to see it all being assembled in flight. 🚀
