i've made a small-but-high-roi profit collecting and the path to it scaling is clear. that trading activity actually supports the creator is incredibly satisfying

Does your roi come from selling pieces? Or from rewards of marketing your collected pieces?

specifically referring to selling as I think this is totally unrealized. creators know liquidity is important and they obvi want people collect, but it's almost like they don't want collecting to be valuable. we will make money when our collectors can make money

I have done that too, but it’s always been for low supply limited editions 

I think it’ll be hard to convince people to “buy 100 zora pieces” as an indicator of your belief in that piece

Can't agree there bc I'm already doing it. 100 editions is $30, still less than what most artists list work for and much less than I've paid for 1/1s and limited editions. Just knowing I can sell, even at a loss, is a massive difference from collecting a 1/1 that I can only sell if the artist goes nuclear. With an automated market more liquidity benefits everyone.

I think any artist who has had success selling 1/1s would find that this token model is more profitable bc it's more profitable for collectors.

I totally agree - that's why I posted it. I was optimistic about the protocol but after a couple small trades it clicked. My point is that making a few bucks from trading art is more fun and satisfying that looking for the next memecoin to get rekt on. 

Problems:
-Not enough creators; they think they're giving work away for free
-Zora trained the behavior of collecting 1 edition w/ double-tap to mint

It will take time but when more creators reach secondary, their collectors will see that their purchase was more than just support

I’m just saying that the average person will find it strange up front (not considering you average here, given how much you’ve thought about it haha)
