As a child, Wednesdays felt special because my mom always bought me an issue of a magazine series about artists. It ran for four years, with each issue featuring an artistās life and an analysis of their paintings. Iām so grateful to my mom for introducing me to the world of art. Even though painting wasnāt her passion, she never missed a chance to get the magazine for me. If we were away, sheād leave money at the newsstand so they could save an issue for her until we returned. She also ignored criticism from friends who felt some issues werenāt āappropriateā for a child due to ācensorshipā concerns. Looking back, I see what a priceless gift that was.

It's a beautiful story indeed! My mom used to take me to galleries as a kid and I hated it š I loved drawing and hated galleries. But now I love both š

I lived too far from galleries and never thought Iād get to see these paintings š But I had a similar story with music. I was forced to attend classical concerts and spent five years in music school absolutely hating it. My mom dreamed of me playing the piano, but the Sorting Hat gave me a love for visual arts instead :)
