lessons i learned from doing sales in web3 in the past year. for context, i used to be a PM: 1. jumping straight into a demo without understanding customer goals is a terrible thing to do. focus on listening, not demo-ing. 2. help your lead envision a future with you. design is a powerful skillset. learn figma. i think "sales designing" (enabling customers to dream) is a great complementary role to sales engineering (focused on feasibility-checking). it also shortens the sales -> development cycle tremendously bc what you end up selling is the pixel you end up speccing. 3. word-of-mouth, warm intros, and product-led growth are the best lead gen methods. we don't do any outbound at @deform and have managed to serve millions.
