it’s obvious that using my phone is directly correlated to regretted life minutes. i really need to think about this more seriously.

I really had an issue with it, for me i had to: - delete ig/twitter/youtube from phone (keep youtube music) - deactivate ig for a bit so people got in the habit of messaging me elsewhere - remove all apps from home screen except essentials - phone display on grayscale - not have phone in my bedroom, go random times without it (apple watch for emergencies) - Chrome extensions (news feed eradicator and unhook) to minimise time spent on ig/twitter/youtube on desktop... still do use them, but a lot less than before. haven't looked at other extensions, kinda curious. still procrastinate in other ways now (and still working on it) but for me i feel news/blogs/random surfing is less addictive than ig / twitter on phone

good list – i've done many of these. The truth is I was having great success until I started building on farcaster. Now support, fun, work, and play is all intermixed. I have a legitimate reason to monitor warpcast, i deal with them but then get sucked into other activities. its not all regretted life minutes, i love the people i've met here and having fun but it definitely impacts my physche, ability to focus and do hard things that require deep work. a lot of those things i admire.

yeah i feel you - i'm in the same boat with fc being the biggest cause of procrastination! buoy kinda helped but i still struggle and scroll and get distracted. i think the mix of being a 'social network' vs 'social media' might contribute to it. there are people i care about seeing updates from (and have met irl) that I only interact with on farcaster. i don't feel the same about ig/twitter - most irl friends will text me. it's nice coming back to australia and having the afternoons off to focus, but the past couple months in nyc were nice - was able to meet up with fc people irl or text and still feel connected / up to date with fc without needing as much time on fc. maybe latenightcrew will help 😅

killed my internet plan, hid the home feed with a plugin, and regrettable minutes crashed to ~0
