I once told my girlfriend that music is like math. You don’t invent the formulas, you discover them. I play guitar (I’m still pretty much a beginner), but I’m amazed at how much someone can express without saying a single word. I have a friend who is a music therapist, and once she explained to me how musical notes relate to our emotions, and I found that simply wonderful
